Zac is 100% Sangiovese from the Gugliaie vineyard (2.5 ha) and dedicated to Anna Corsini, the sister of Prince Tommaso. With the first vintage produced in 2008 (1,800 bottles), it represents the new challenges of the winery. It is a Sangiovese with a strong Chianti character, decisive and elegant at the same time, just like “Zac,” as Anna Corsini is affectionately called by her nieces and nephews and their children.
Tasting and pairing notes:
Ruby red in color with garnet reflections. On the nose it is complex and very well-structured, less immediate but with articulated aromas: dried flowers, fruit, spiced notes of tobacco, and mineral notes like graphite, leather, and gunpowder. In the mouth it is smooth from the very first sip, rich, and deep. It has vibrant, well-integrated tannins. The minerality adds a touch of elegance to a Sangiovese with great finesse. It is a very balanced wine that is still evolving, and has great longevity.
